Living and coping with the daily challenges of diabetes can be difficult.

Even though there are challenges, having diabetes doesn’t mean you can’t lead a full and active life..

The DSME programme has been developed specifically for diabetes healthcare, providing you with the skills and confidence you need to take a more active part in your own care, together with your healthcare team.

The programme consists of a two hour session each week for 4 weeks or over 2 full days. The course is Free and supporters are encouraged to attend.

Why attend a DSME programme? People with diabetes are entitled to up to date information in a supportive environment in order for them to make informed choices about self care.

This programme is based on research which has shown that people with diabetes are the experts in their own care and need to be in control of managing their condition.

Programmes are held in local community venues as close as possible to your medical centre.
